Myspace exhibition composition
I have recently visited the Riverfront to see the exhibition space and I chose the wall that I want to exhibit my piece on. I have decided to also create nine embroidery hoops representing the nine months of pregnancy. I have researched thoroughly into prenatal and postnatal ailments and discomforts and I am going to pick my nine favourite ailments and I will hand stitch them onto embroidery hoops with a 15cm diameter. I took photographs at the Riverfront and when I got back to college I used Photoshop to trace and edit the image so that I can experiment with the composition of my final pieces. This will be really helpful when I have to exhibit my work as I can easily reference my compositions. I also created a mock up Myspace of my exhibition space and I used cardboard and masking tape to create the Myspace and a red spotlight to add lighting to my piece. I have also been continuing to stitch into my final piece using different textures and line quality. I also want to experiment with tea staining my calico ready to stitch into my embroidery hoops and using the hot glue gun and wood glue to imitate the Vernix Caseosa. Some babies are born with a white coating called vernix caseosa, which protects their skin from the constant exposure to amniotic fluid in the womb. The vernix is washed off with the baby's first bath.
