Rebecca D. Harris is an artist based in Exeter, UK who makes work about the body, sometimes through the use of humour, science and textiles. After graduating from Plymouth College of Art with a first class honours degree in fine art the artist then went on to complete a masters in contemporary art practice at Plymouth University. Rebecca has artworks in private collections around the globe and has exhibited nationally and most notably at the permanent exhibition 'Invisible You' at the world renowned Eden Project in Cornwall. Rebecca Harris's work really inspired my stage 3 project and pushed my work in the right direction. Rebecca Harris comments on obesity in her work and how a woman's body changes with age. Her work also comments on women who've had mastectomies and her project tilted 'Skin as Repository', influenced my research into the grim realities of childbirth and how pregnancy and birth affects the body. Her work also inspired me to continue to use textiles in my stage 3 project.
